First Monday Book Discussion Group: An adult book discussion group which meets the first Monday of every other month at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Lewistown branch of the Mifflin Co. Library.

Second Wednesday Book Club:  The Area Agency on Aging and the Mifflin County Library sponsor a monthly book discussion.  The participants in the group choose the book they will read each month and then discuss their individual views and comments about the book.  Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Lewistown branch of the Mifflin Co. Library.

Adult Summer and Winter Reading Programs:  Each summer (beginning in June) and each winter (beginning in January) the Mifflin Co. Library sponsors an Adult Reading Program.  All patrons with a valid library card are invited to join in the fun.  Simply keep track of the books you read and you can enter a drawing for great prizes.  Watch the Library Calendar of Events for start dates.  For more information, contact any branch of the Mifflin Co. Library.

 

Chess Club:  Chess Club at the Mifflin County Library is for all ages.  Children aged 8 and under much be accompanied by an adult.  Chess sets can be provided, but if you have your own set, please bring it with you.  You do not need to know how to play--instruction will be provided.  Watch the library web page and the library events calendar for upcoming dates and times.  New members are welcome!  For more information, call the Children's Room of the Lewistown branch of the Mifflin County Library at (717)242-2391.

 

Papercrafting:  Whether you're a beginner or an "old pro" at carfting with paper, come join the fun at the Rothrock branch on the third Thursday of each month from 6:30 pm till 8:00 pm.  This is a free event for adults.  If you have supplies and/or tools (paper cutters, stapler, scrapbooking paper, card stock, adhesive), bring them with you.  If not, we will share!  To register, or for more information, call Sandy at the Rothrock branch of the Mifflin Co. cropNswap:  The Mifflin Co Library is hosting this free, all-day scrapbooking event which will be held in the Community Room of the Lewistown branch on selected Saturdays throughout the year. (Please check the events calendar on this webpage, for specific dates.)  Each event runs from 9 am until 6 pm--come and go as you like. (Lunch is "on your own".)  Bring your scrapbooking supplies and join the fun!  Please note: This event is limited to 12-14 participants.  Registration is required and is by email onlySend email to: crop_nswap@yahoo.com  Your registration confirmation will also be by email.

 

Commonwealth Speaker Series:  The Mifflin County Library, with funding from the Pennsylvania Humanities Council, is proud to present the Commonwealth Speaker Series.  These free events will take place in the Community Room of the Lewistown branch of the library.  Please check the online library events calendar for more information, or contact any branch of the library.  In addition, future dates and times will be posted prominently at all branches.
